Michael Grasinski
Michael Grasinski directs the Mission and Ministry of the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, overseeing the implementation of pastoral and evangelization programming at the Shrine.
Prior to his work at the Shrine, Michael was the President of Evangelization at the Ruah Woods Institute, overseeing the implementation of K-12 Theology of the Body curriculum and educator formation throughout the country.
Michael received his education and formation at numerous Catholic educational institutes, first as a seminarian at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Maryland after which he completed a B.A. in Theology through Catholic Distance University. Michael spent a year of M.T.S. studies at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family before ultimately finishing his M.A. in philosophy, summa cum laude at Franciscan University in 2020. There, he specialized in the personalism of Karol Wojtyla, Edith Stein, and Dietrich von Hildebrand.
Michael has a passion for teaching, evangelization, and public speaking, having lead days of formation, school in-services, and has taught Catholic moral theology and Christian anthropology at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology in Cincinnati as well as through CDU. He has long been a student of St. John Paul II’s life, witness, and work, and has dedicated himself to the continued propagation of John Paul’s legacy for the good of the Church through the growing initiatives at the Shrine. Michael and his wife, Alyssa, live in Virginia with their three children.
